2014 BYU's Silent Weekend

This is your one stop resource to answering all of your questions regarding the BYU's Silent Weekend and where to purchased the tickets.

All the information and questions can be found underneath this picture. 

The information will include what is Silent Weekend, what workshop is being offer, what kind of food, where to park, what the schedule is like, who can go, etc. 



The Silent Weekend will happens on November 14/15. Please buy your tickets by November 13 so that we know how much foods we need to order. 




Friday schedule, what it is like?
  • We will meet in Wilkinson Center 3211 at 6pm to eat pizza and interact with people who is an ASL enthusiast
  • You must PURCHASED a ticket to be able to get in. We will have a list of those who pay so don't forget to bring your ID. We will put on the wristband.

    • Ticket price as follow:
      • BYU ASL club member: $20 (we will be double checking if you are a member or not. If you are not, be prepared to pay a additional $5). 
      • BYU Student: $25
      • Non-BYU student: $30
      • Utah Deaf resident: $20.
      • At the door: $35
    • We have ATMs right next to the Wilkinson Center if you need to get some cashes. 
  • Starting at 7pm, we will head to the Jesse Knight Building room 2107 for the Deaf Comedy performance that will start at 7:30pm. The deaf comedy will be performed by four talent local deaf.
  • The performance will ended at 9pm but people are free to linger longer to chat until 10pm.



Saturday Schedule, what it is like?
  • We offer nine different workshops, three for each hour, starting at 9 am. So please show up at 8:45 am to attend the workshop on time. 
  • The workshop will be held on the second floor of the Jesse Knight Building, in a multiple of class rooms. Here's the workshop schedule:

  • After the last workshops has ended, we will go to Wilkinson Center 3211 to eat a delicious cater Cafe Zuppas Lunch! 
  • After 1pm, people are free to linger and chat until 3pm.
  • Remember that there are a BYU home football game at 5pm so expected some difficulties in trying to get out. 


Silent Weekend, what is that?
  • The most simplest answer is that Silent Weekend is a ASL workshops for people who want to deepen their learning of ASL and the deaf culture. 


Who can go?
  • All Universities students (BYU, Utah State, Utah University, Utah Valley University, etc)
  • All deaf residents
  • All people who loves ASL!
  • If there are people under age of 18, we ask that they have parents or adult supervision with them. 


Where do I park?
  • VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET PARKING TICKETS
  • Friday night is tricky because some parking lots don't open until 7pm. The map is included so you know where to park on Friday night.

  • Saturday, you can park where ever you want! Be forewarned that there is a BYU football game at 5pm so expected some difficulties getting out of BYU. 


I'm not a BYU student, I have no idea where is the Wilkinson Center and the Jesse Knight Building.
